Perfekt Com and Acer wins contract with Victorian TAFE (By Lilia Guan, 20 November 2007)

(visit iTnews to view the original article) Local reseller Perfekt Com and its channel partner Acer Computer Australia have won a three-year contract worth around $3 million to act as sole desktop PC supplier for Holmesglen TAFE, Victoria.

The win sees Perfekt Com and Acer providing the Institute with its ultra small form factor (USFF) range of PCs, this includes the Veriton 1000. Frank Ugolini, national education sales manager, Acer Computer Australia said Acer was able to reduce both Holmesglen and Acers operating costs. This included enabling Holmesglen TAFE to provide warranty services to their own user base and sharing Acers e-Learning facilities with Holmesglen Institutes IT staff, said Ugolini. Holmesglen was also interested in the "green" benefits of the product range. These include additional energy saving costs and environmental benefits of using the products in their schools, said Rosemary Burns, IT Manager, Holmesglen TAFE. Thinking green is high on our list of priorities. The smaller footprint also enables us to rethink room design and build greater flexibility into that design. This coupled with the ability to work with Acer as a partner and not just a reseller gives us great opportunities, said Burns. Holmesglen Institute, Victoria is another prestigious win to add to Acers already impressive list of education customers in Australia, said Ugolini.

Perfekt Scales Up for Growth in 2007

Perfekt, a specialist provider and integrator of IT infrastructure, sees 2007 as a year of growth in the IT industry. Results for 2006 showed substantial growth in both revenue and profitability over the previous year and Perfekt believes that this trend will continue during 2007 and beyond. In preparing for this expected growth, Perfekt has scaled the organisation by employing additional staff, specifically focused on technical support, but also in sales and management functions. Most notably of these is the recent signing of Paul Bramich to the sales and management team at Perfekt. Paul was previously a Victorian State sales manager for Hewlett Packard and brings with him a wealth of high level experience in both sales and management. Paul has also worked in sales and pre-sales roles for EMC and Hitachi Data Systems, something which fits perfectly into Perfekts business focus as both of these organisations count amongst our strategic business partners. Bramich says of his choice to join Perfekt, "I was looking for an alternative to a large organisation so that I could better use my skills with more entrepreneurial freedom." He sees huge potential for growing Perfekt through new business opportunities that have previously fallen outside Perfekts scope of interest. "It has been a coup for Perfekt to gain Pauls experience and knowledge and we are very excited about his ideas and the growth prospects he brings to this company" said Abie Gelbart, a Perfekt Director. The new staff members will focus their skills on Perfekt core infrastructure business around data storage, backup/recovery and virtualisation, but also bring a number of new skills to the organisation in the area of Microsoft and networking.
